My sister-in-law asked me about krill oil as I've been recommending fish oil to her. All I know is that krill feeds whales but Goolge turned up several articles about the health benefits. Is it superior to Carlson's fish oil to anyones knowledge? I put in a link below for some reference:

I'm looking into it myself. It won't likely be a subsititute for CLO (there isn't any vitamin A or D in it to my knowledge), however, it may be a more efficient way to get EPA/DHA. There seems to be statements that a smaller amount of krill oil than fish oil is necessary to receive similar health benefits (this may be d/t increased antioxidants stated to be contained in the krill oil).

I have several concerns. First, I try to avoid shellfish in general. Second, I've recently heard of krill oil and even phytoplankton supplements. If we start over-"fishing" the major basis of the ocean's food chains, that could really screw things up upstream. Who's to know?
