Has anyone every heard of acai berries as a nutritional supplement and if so what do you think about them? Specifically a product called "MonaVie"?

Hey Jeff,
I believe that "MonaVie" is connected to a multi-level-marketing company.

I use Sambazon frozen acai...usually buy it at Whole Foods.

You can Google acai for the health benefits. (Good fat and anti-oxidants)

My wife is from Brazil where eating/drinking acai is quite popular. I use it with my protein shakes, and enjoy the taste.

Not very scientific...but works for me.

IMO, that monavie appears to be a well packaged product, however, go for the fruit if possible.
Stephen knows what he's talking about...
I did a little research on Acai and noted it's high Omega-6 content, so I wouldn't be looking at it for its EFA content as the O6s aren't what you're after.

i love acai. i eat it all the time. i buy the smoothie packs (a bit pricey though) at either whole foods or wild oats stores. in addition to going great in smoothies, its also good mixed up in a bowl with sliced bananas and walnuts, and i also just eat it straight. i have seen it in two different forms, one is "pure" acai, where it is basically just the frozen berry, and the other is "original" acai which has some other ingredients in it like organic evaporated cane juice (commence the slew of posts curing me for eating somethingn with this in it), and guarana. basically each packet is about two blocks of carbs.
