Re: Gslp

3 deadlift worksets? Isn't it just one?

Re: Gslp

I also wouldn't recommend doing 5 minutes of burpees every training day. JP recommends building up to the 100 in 5 minutes thing by starting with 3 sets of 10 in under 30 seconds each, then 3x15 under 45s, then 3x20 under 60s, 3x25, 2x30, 2x35, 2x40, 2x45, 1x50, 1x55, and so on as long as you can keep that same pace of 3 seconds per rep. Building gradually is likely to be more useful than just knocking out 5 minutes of them on a regular basis.

Re: Gslp

Yeah I messed up deadlifts.... So used to 5/3/1... Was doing from memory I thought

I'll go the other route on the burpees then. I managed 50 in 2:38 so was close to them every 3 seconds before I started slowing down. I'll give it a go on like 3x15 and see how they go

Love the boards . Helpful gentle prodding to show when I'm making mistakes...thanks guys!

Re: Gslp

So I did 3x20 and made it with 'ease'.

Now the difference is I feel like i'm 'sprinting' through them faster than 3 seconds because I'm a good 10sec before the 1min mark on each set (resting 1 min between each set).

When I did the 5 mins it was 2:38 with 50 done when I got 81. So should I focus on the 50 mark or hang around the 40 mark in 2 minutes right now?

5x6 chins throughout day.

Re: Gslp

That "sprinting" feeling will go away before too long. I'd just continue to build on them gradually, you'll get there eventually.

Re: Gslp

So I just finished my 2nd week on GSLP.

I'm doing MWF, with prowler on Tuesday and some type of 10 minute CF-ish WOD on Saturday, not currently doing Frequency Method for chins or pushups even though I need it.

When should I add in the burpees if I wanted to start with the 3x10 progression? I workout first thing in the morning, and I'm pretty wiped after finishing the + set of squats/deadlifts. Should I just suck it up and do it then, or try to do it after work at night?

Re: Gslp

You can do the burpees anytime...before lifting, later in the day, on rest days, whenever. I used to throw them into my warmups to help break up the mobility stuff I was also doing. 3x10 won't tax you enough to mess up your lifting, but you may want to move them after your lifting once you're doing sets of 40 or 50.

Re: Gslp

So I've been doing a modified version of GSLP for about 2 weeks, but want to try to follow the program a little closer to how it was designed. So if I am getting this correctly. Sorry for all the questions.

Week 1:

Monday
Bench
Curl
Squat
Neck Harness

Wednesday
Press
Weighted Chins
Deadlift
Neck Harness

Friday
Bench
Curl
Squat
Neck Harness

Week 2:

Monday
Press
Squat
Neck Harness

Wednesday
Bench
Deadlift
Neck Harness

Friday
Press
Squat
Neck Harness

So I will only be doing weighted chins once every two weeks (1st week of 2 week cycle)? It says only do weighted chins on deadlift day that I am also doing presses. And curls I will only be doing on the 1st week cycle? I says that only do curls on Mon. and Fri when I am benching on those days. It seems there is a lot more lifting on week 1 versus week 2? Is this how it is designed?

Re: Gslp

You will do weighted chins whenever you Press and curls whenever you bench. So one week will be chins/press 2x a week and bench/curls 1x a week. The next week they will flip. The squats are always mon/fri and deads on wednesday.
