Just a quick "heads-up" on the Russian Strength & Conditioning Workshop on Aug. 19; the early registration discount ends Aug. 5.
This is not a "business-as -ususal" type of workshop. The instructor,Saulius Puzikas is a high-level professional body guard and counter-terrorism consultant, also a veteran of the Soviet Spetsnaz Special Operations Unit.
Think he can teach people something they don't already know? You bet!

Tom--
Sorry about the delay in replying, my computer was messed up for a few days.
Sonny has not given me specific details on what he will cover, but I trained with him for about six months, I do know that his focus is on "uesable" strength, not building mass.
He emphasizes tendon strength, and improving the strength-to-weight ratio.
Sonny used a lot of buddy/group exercises as well as "stick" exercises. He also was the first person to teach anything about kettlebells.
His website is www.russiancombatacademy.com
hope that helps.

I'm on the other coast right now.

I've heard and seen a bit of the systema conditioning drills. Any chance you'll be going over them at all? I haven't seen the dvd/tape on them out in a long time.

Any chance you'll do video or would it be kept for possible later productions?

I'm waiting for a reply from Sonny on Tom's previous question.
I'll see what I can find out for you also.
