Four muscle-ups

I went down to Crossfit Portland today and got four consecutive muscle-ups! I think it was heavily the kip that helped. A proper kip can make a pull-up incredibly explosive. I'm confident that I could get more than four if I spent more time on the muscle-up. Thanks, Scott!

Re: Four muscle-ups

Good work Derek. I was kipping like hell too. I'm sure you've seen the big kipping MU vs non-kipping MU argument. Guess I'll be on the side of the kipping MU until I can a non-kipping MU.

I'm okay getting by on technique rather than strength.

Whoa, Derek! You are just recording PRs all over the place. Nice work...I'm sure it's the improvement in your diet...*wink*

I couldn't kip very well before. Makes a lot of difference for getting past the transition.

Sarena, side press seems more like something done to impress people. There are few things more impressive than a guy holding 200 pounds overhead in one hand.
