I have underestimated the WOD.

I have been following the ideas and methodologies of crossfit for about five months now. I have not done any WOD, but I do oly lifts, gymnastics holds, and lots of body weight exercises.

So far I went from 220# to a current 197#, and have a target of 190#, I am 6'4" and 28, by the way.

When at the gym working out I would do a mix of things that I felt like doing, and it has worked well for me. Recently I decided to be more focused so I started doing scaled WODs. Today I did a scaled Barbara, 10-20-30-40, in 21 minutes, then I rowed 500m in 1:45. I was spent when I was done, and walk very awkwardly out to my car.

Just wanted to say that this community is the best thing that ever happened to my physical well being. I weighed 295 in high school, but over the last 5 years hovered around 225-230 even while doing the old body building stuff.

Keep up the great work. I have noticed the same thing with me since starting Crossfit. I had been doing traditional Body Building workouts for the last 4 years but I haven't seen nearly the results as far as overall fitness/loss of bodyfat as I have had with Crossfit. I have been Crossfitting for about 6 months now and I love it.
