Folks,

After I linked to the Beast Skills standing rollout tutorial from my weblog, one of my readers asked:

i'm sure there are women who can do standing ab wheel rollouts, but you don't happen to know of any who have pictures/video online, do you? i could use that kind of inspiration.

I figured where better to ask than here?

When I'm at CFDC this Sunday I will give it a go. Maybe Tom can get a picture. Of course this is pending on me being able to do it. Where do you keep the evil thing? I've only seen the one with the foot pads on it.

I'm almost positive Kelly Moore did the roll-out at my gym in January. In fact, she may have rolled back up as well. If she did miss it that day, I'm certain she could do it as the rollout was after an hour with the kettlebells and a kip demo. That was the same night she did a planche on two kettlebells! Freak!

Yes...I think you are right about that John. Right after she was done doing the hopping handstand pushups.

I've been training this movement using Ironwoody bands around my waist and hung from a pullup bar. I like the greater ROM even when done with bands from the feet than without bands done from the knee. High rep (fat band) or strength (thin band), they're really good.

Doing them with gym rings is a nice way to progress as well. Just set the rings close to the floor. The further you stand from the rings, the harder the movement (you can also stand on a short box). It's harder than doing rollouts from your knees, but easier that doing standing rollouts. The fact that the rings want to return while the wheel just wants to keep going makes a significant difference.

Not sure if y'all are familiar with Krista's site but she does a roll out with barbells.
Scroll down to find it.

Krista does a rollout, but her arms are perpendicular to the floor. my understanding is you have to go " overhead " with the wheel and come inches from the ground with your nose, and then return.

, she can planche. I've seen some itty bitty girls planche on beam or pass through and hold it ish, but never a girl.

Then again, it's not everyday ya see a girl muscle-up much less pullover on rings.
