Medical Bands/stretch bands/jump bands?

Good Afternoon all and thank you for your help.

I have read that others have purchased some type of tubing/band from medical supply stores. My intention is to use these bands for assistance with the muscle up, etc.

I saw an old journal that called em 'therabands.' However, when I called the local medical supply store they acted as if they have no heard of such an item.

Am i stating it incorrectly. Is there a better term, or is there something better?(like tubing?)

Thanks for your help.

I just purchased "Pallet Bands" from McMaster Carr catalogue last week. Bought the biggest ones they have, 2 for $12, they work great.

Re: Medical Bands/stretch bands/jump bands?

I have a question in a similar vein. I will be losing access to the Gravitron I've been using as I am graduating and will no longer have access to my schools gym. I am still pushing over 260 lbs. I was wondering what band strength would be ideal while I work on my muscleups and pullups?

I found the pallet bands from McMaster to be unsatisfactory if you're looking for heavy tension like Jump Stretch or Woody bads provide.

Had a few start wearing out within a couple months and the length was a little too much.

www.mcmaster.com
8848T32

$21.09 for 2.

I am 225 and was using up to 14 plates of resistance on the gravitron depending on where I was in my workout.

I get about the same assistance from the 2 pallet bands.

I have a portable pullup bar that I built, and I have one band looped over the top and the other band runs from side to side through the top band (forms an inverted "T").

If I have to replace them in a couple months, I can live with that, right now my whole family is using the thing everyday!

Hmm...those look pretty fantastic. Cheap just like I like it and I won't need them forever.
