Okay, so feel free to PM me if you don't want to admit to it on a public board, but I was just wondering, for those of you following strict diets--how often do you cheat?

I'll go first. I usually follow the Zone strictly for one to two weeks, run out of food/time/discipline, and start eating at diners instead of carefully planning my meals. My goal is to only cheat a few times each week: one night of light drinking every week or two, limit chocolate or ice cream or other junk food to once or twice a week, and eating one meal out once a week (either sushi or all-you-can-eat Indian lunch buffet.)

So yeah, not the ideal model of health, but I've noticed if I try to have a perfect diet, I end up cheating for days or weeks at a time, so am trying to find a different way to do things.

I've been on the Zone (modified) for a little over 7 months now. During the first few months I would allow a couple of cheat meals a week. However, over the past few months I rarely have any cheat meals at all. It's just not appealing to me anymore and when I do "cheat" it is usually a very small portion of something.

At my best, I would eat perfectly clean until friday afternoon, and then eat whatever I wanted until monday morning. I did it that way for two months and lost dropped from 12% bf to 10%, while gaining a pound of muscle.

This last week I started with a Zone Diet delivery service, but I am going to quit it, since every meal is loaded with cheats.

Nobody else cheats? C'mon, guys, 'fess up!

I'll go first again! I ate a chocolate chip cookie yesterday.

I read on another board that you're supposed to eat sugar after you work out to avoid catabolism where muscle would be broken down to fix other damaged muscles... Good excuse!

I will be cheating a bit tomorrow. Our office is buying "wingstop" for my dept. I will partake in a wing or two for sure.

I usually allow for a cheat meal on the weekend, as I often end up at social gatherings, etc. Other than this, I rarely feel the actual desire to cheat, as eating Zone/Paleo is just entirely too easy and the results are too good.

during the week I'm good about eating properly, usually once on the weekends I'll indulge, nothing crazy though...main thing I avoid at all costs are refined sugars (e.g. sodas)

Tonight is chicken wings and pizza night. My eating habit is around 80% zone. When I cheat I always prefered fat and salty carbs :crazy:. I'm 5'11'' now 210lbs at 21%BF, down 18lbs since januaru 1st so it seem to work so far.
