The Great Crossfit Book Exchange

So I have this idea. Clearly, many Crossfitters enjoy reading for fun. What if we created a way on this forum to exchange the books that we were done with? Each participant would offer up books on individual posts and peruse other individual posts for books they wanted to read.

Here's the plan:

1. Post titles of books that you are done with and want to share with other Crossfitters

2. If you want to be nice, add a link to amazon dot com or bn dot com that includes a description of the work.

3. If you see a book that you want to read on someone else's post, PM the poster with your name and address.

4. The poster will then send you the book in the mail (Media Mail is dirt cheap).

ETA: 5. Once someone has made a claim on the book, the poster will edit the post indicating that the choice is no longer available.

I'll start. I have three offerings today (all links WFS):

Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer:

Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer:

Across the Nightingale Floor: Tales of the Otori Book One, by Lian Hearn:

I like the idea, but I see one small problem: IIRC, you only have like 10 minutes or something to edit a post, unless you're a mod.

Better idea: Join Book Mooch (, WFS generally, maybe some books aren't), which is a net-based book exchange. Post your Book Mooch id here so that other Crossfitters can ask to be on your friend list. (Friends are automagically notified of new books.) Let Book Mooch do the rest instead of trying to re-invent the wheel.

Thanks for posting the link to Book Mooch. I joined on Friday. Have mailed off three books today and will be receiving two shortly. This make me very happy.

Books available for free? A place where you can get a book for free, read it, then allow someone else to read it for free? Why didn't anyone else think of a place like that?!

Wait a minute . . .

I'm just joking with you The book exchange club sounds neat
