Re: The Erin Experiment

Well - there was no free beer for my Man Fran, Frank, Francois, Francesco whatever...

But I did it. And I felt horrible - but I did it. In less time than it took me to do a Sandbag that weighed 20 lbs. less than the bb I used...and only 2 days after my LAST Fran + deadlifts.

What? WHO AM I?!

Anyway...

FRIDAY, 2/13/09

Sleep : maybe 6 hours. I blame my XFit addiction. Also, the smell of rotisserie chicken.

Food : like I said, ate like an animal all yesterday - last meal was around 9p. ManFran began at 1130a fasted. Didn't eat till about 130p (a few almonds and a strawberry)...theeeeen 330p Kimchi Chigae (Korean pork and kimchi stew) with side dishes and 1/2 cup of white rice...theeeeeen I went to my favorite tea room and got the only muffin I ever crave...a millet muffin. DELISH. That is my reward for being a crazy person these last few days (read - I'm tired and craving carbs again).

Lots of warmup and SMR (it was freeeezing at the Tribe)

"Man Fran"

21-15-9

95lb. Thrusters
Pullups (not to c2b as my wrist was really not feeling this as is...didn't want to strain in another mvmt for ROM).

20 minutes - though I filmed the whole thing and I need to view it and retime.

I've got practice c2b and attempt to beat my women's rx'd Fran time of 7somethin. I know I can do SOOOOO much better at that now. Whew...what a relief. The thing that really limited my time with this version was that my wrist REALLY didn't like those heavy thrusters. It feels fine now (I iced a bit afterwards)...but during - it just plain hurt like hell. I attempted a few different rack positions (front squat rack to jerk transition or pressing in the squat portion to pressing in the top)...just wanted to be cautious. I'd be curious to see what I could get out of a fresh wrist and fresh body (I can't believe it was only 2 days ago that Greg and I did Sandy Fran).

Will post vid later - it's horrible. I failed on one thruster attempt in the beginning and pretty much decided that just couldn't happen again...Goes without saying but 95lbs. is a lot more than 65lbs...but still not NEARLY as bad as grappling a sandbag.

PALEO POTLUCK TONIGHT! Can't wait to sleep...

Re: The Erin Experiment

You are tough as nails, Erin. Two Frans in 48 hours, both WAY harder than Rx'd. Who are you indeed?

WHERE does it hurt?
Chronic pain, acute (just during exercises), hurt afterwards?
Etc.

Need details girl!

edit: sounds like just general "overuse" hyperextension. Can be built back up pretty easily with some rehab like rice bucket or something along those lines.
^^^^^^^

On secound thought, maybe the trauma could've done something, heh.

So, what's a millet muffin?

& I blame Greg for the double-loaded Fran-week.

See you later for my Sandy Fran...
