Pulled the Trigger
I just ordered the following for the garage. I certainly have no need for competition bumpers, but my son and I like the looks of them, sue us...
The pullup system is separate from the squat stand so that I can mount it at a height that I can do both pull ups and bar muscle ups. We already have some wall balls, a plyo box and another cheap CAP bar. Stoked to have the flexibility of doing 90%+ of my gym's WOD's at home in a pinch. Will probably add in some personalized self-programming 1 day per week. I will have to update the thread with some post-delivery pics. That's a requirement, right? ![]() (1) RA0172 P-4 Pullup System (1) RF0407 Rogue 2013 25lbs Color Competition Plate - PAIR (1) RF0409 Rogue 2013 45lbs Color Competition Plate - PAIR (1) RF0264 ES-1 Squat Stand (1) PW20EWM Men's 20kg CrossFit/Economy Weightlifting Bar (1) IP0007 53LB Rogue Kettlebell (1) IP0009 70LB Rogue Kettlebell (2) HTRF10LBP ROGUE 10lb Bumpers (Pair) (1) RF0416 Rogue 2013 45lbs Black Training Plate - PAIR |

Re: Pulled the Trigger
Congrats!
I find it odd that you'd spring for the competition plates but not a nicer bar than the econ. Doubt you'd see any issues but it doesn't have a warranty. The improvement Rogue made from the Rogue to the Ohio bar is impressive. I imagine their new oly bar will be very nice. |

Re: Pulled the Trigger
If you can change your order I would. I just read some reviews on Rogue's site, one guy claims it bent on a 315# squat.
Rogue acquired the equipment to manufacture bars in house. Their first bar was the Ohio bar (Chan is the same with different knurling). Our gym uses the Rogue bar, I have the Ohio bar in the garage. Without a doubt the Ohio bar is better - tighter tolerances, better spin, nicer knurl (this is personal though). The warranty gives some piece of mind that they'll have your back. In the same price range as the Econ bar the Again Faster bar has a lifetime warranty. I'm envious of the comp plates and rogue kettle bells! I'll have to make do with my Rogue Econ plates for a while. |

Re: Pulled the Trigger
Literally just got the "It's shipped" email....
Oh well, I'll see how the bar goes and if need be try an exchange after the fact. No biggie. But thanks to you guys for the recommendation. |

Re: Pulled the Trigger
That's awesome! I love my garage set up. I go to a regular gym in the afternoons but I use the garage to work out in the mornings a few days a week as well as on weekends. I have some things at home that my gym does not have, and vice versa. I love the competition bumpers! I have only a pair of 45's right now, but that will change this summer!

Re: Pulled the Trigger
I would consider getting a better bar in the near future. The Ohio is awesome (i have one), but if you can, save up for the Oly bar from rogue (and the 35 and 55 lb comp plates) and use your current beater bar as a second bar and as a power bar. The econ bar will hold you over well until that time.
Now if you can change your order, pay the extra $100 and get an Ohio. You won't regret it. |

Re: Pulled the Trigger
I have to agree with what others have said about the bar.
Maybe it is just me but I find the use of coloured plates for pounds a bit odd. The reason for colour plates is to easily add up Olympic lifting weights by just looking. In pounds is just a bit weird as you don't know if it is right or not. Whatever, just my 2 cents. I have comp plates, all black with coloured writing. One day I should colour code my KG plates..... |
