Re: Pulled the Trigger
I guess I would probably feel the same way about KG plates then.

Re: Pulled the Trigger
I've seen some that follow this color scheme, but the more common ones that I've seen have 55# red, 45# blue, 35# yellow, 25# green, 10# black. That's the colors of my Pendlay competition plates.

Re: Pulled the Trigger
not that it matters really but do you know why your box went with those colors and not with the traditional scheme of 55=red, 45=blue, 35=yellow and 25=green?

Re: Pulled the Trigger
I could be wrong but I think the whole "colored pounds" thing came from these guys who use to provide the equipment WAY back when the Games were at the Ranch.
http://www.amazon.com/Kraiburg-Premi.../dp/B007IKQX0G (wfs) It's the first instance I have seen of colored pound plates. I do like Pendlay's idea better with using a 55lb as the red. JMHO. |

Re: Pulled the Trigger
Looks like an awesome setup to cover most everything.
Don't sweat the bar. The Ohio bar is "better." Are you going to notice? Probably not in any appreciable way. If you notice your bar that much on most Crossfit workouts, you've either got a horrendous bar (locked up or very uncomfortable knurl) or you're overthinking the equipment. The Econ bar is not a horrendous bar. I have an Ohio bar and I love it. It's way nicer than the bars at my affiliate if I really think about it. Plus it's murdered out.. awesome. I would get it again. Some of the affiliate even wobble when you spin them (gross). But I've never noticed it something missing when I pick them up after 3,2,1 go. I say buy what makes you say "that's awesome" and want to pick it up. It'll all make you just as fit. Looking forward to the pics. |
