Thoughts on Testosterone

I am thinking about taking Testosterone by pill, injection, cream, patches or inserted pellets. Does anyone have comments or suggestions? I am having my blood work done now.

Re: Thoughts on Testosterone

For medical purposes?

If it's for personal reasons like increased athletic performance I would advise against that, especially if you're younger than 35.

Re: Thoughts on Testosterone

I would advise you to truely consider your reasons for doing such. If the reasons are personnal I would consider doing a trial period of at least six months were you hold yourself accountable to doing everything correctly 100% and record what your gains are. I would then suggest that you strongly consider if you can continue making strong progress without the use of anabolics. I would also do heavy research into the performance enhancing effects of said drugs and the risk of side effects. I would also try to contact some previous or current users who have experience with steroids and get their opinions. I would also consider the ramifications of legal action assuming that steroids are a controlled substance where you reside. I am not sure I believe steroids to be the danger the media makes them out to be. That said I am not sure that taking them is a good idea.

Re: Thoughts on Testosterone

If it is legal and through a MD fo HRT go for it. If it is back alley and for you ego maybe you should focus and a better diet. But what is your rationale/reason?

The problem with this is, there are lots of legal clinics out there that are pretty undiscerning and will write prescriptions for anybody walking in and somehow demonstrating a "medical need." There are tons of these "rejuvenation" clinics all over Los Angeles. So even if test is acquired legally, it doesn't mean it was prescribed appropriately.

Re: Thoughts on Testosterone

IF you can take it medically go for it. I wouldn't otherwise, you don't know what you're getting. PLus with your past issues I think you'd be dicing witth death.

I wouldn't expect to blow up like Arnie on reputable doctor prescribed doses though! But I think you'd feel better, recover better and have more energy.

Re: Thoughts on Testosterone

Thanks to Frank's link to your earlier post I think I have a little idea about your dilemma.

There are studies showing that in men with diabetes AND low testosterone there is improvement in blood sugar regulation with supplementation to get you back to "physiological range". So whatever route works for you probably not a bad idea. Do a search lots of info about routes pros and cons online.

My first focus if I had diabetes would be getting on a diet with absolutely no processed food as low GI carbs as I could!
:stir:
Get your weight into the normal range if it is not already.
Good luck
