So, I'm 53....

Been eating clean(lean proteins and veggies) for 9 weeks and haven't seen any weight loss(maybe attributable to my almond butter and dark chocolate addiction ). Into second cycle of Wendler 5/3/1 ( BP/Squat on Monday - DL/SP on Thursday), short metcons on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, REST Wednesday and Sunday.

My general fitness level is significantly better in that I'm much stronger and performance is getting better every time I test e.g. Cindy has been tested every three weeks so far 11, 15, 16. Similarly, Grace has gone from 12 to 6 minutes and strict pull ups 2 to 10.

Considering my age, I'm more than pleased with my strength and performance. Hoping to continue to make strides, but my question is what can I expect from a body composition perspective considering I'm becoming hormonally like a woman (according to Rip).

Thanks,

Re: So, I'm 53....

Sounds to me like you are equating body comp change to weight loss. They're not the same thing.

What are you looking for? Body composition change, or just pure weight loss?

Personally, it sounds to me like you're doing great. Your performance is improving, which tells me that your fitness level is improving. Since Crossfit is a fitness program -- not a weight loss program -- it sounds like you are accomplishing what Crossfit is meant to accomplish.

Re: So, I'm 53....

Meals look a little light, esp of fat. Add lots of EVOO, coconut oil to veggies, or bacon fat. If you find yourself snacking on "snacks" think of adding more meals. One thing that has helped me back off fruit/nuts/jerky is having two breakfasts. One pre WOD, one around 11, lunch at 1-2, dinner at 6ish. When I am full on good foods, I am less likely to crack out on snacks....in your case nut butters.
