What does a trainer/coach at a Crossfit facility make? Per class, private session, hourly, etc.?
Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

since no one else is biting...

The first thing to consider is the employee status. That brings tax issues, workers comp, etc.--a wiser course would be setting up trainers as independent contractors, i.e. the trainers' clients pay them, then the trainers pay the facility owner(s). How much they pay can be based on a flat monthly 'rental' fee or a percentage of their take, probably anywhere from 15-30% depending on the circumstances. As far as how much each trainer charges, it depends on the market, how much he/she is paying for use of the facility and the training format. For group classes, probably $10-20/head/hr. For private training, probably $50-100/hr.

James, Greg's advice is right on the mark.
Also, check on the laws of your state concerning the collection of training fees.
In Florida, where my gym is, an independent contractor cannot legally collect money from clients. He has to register his business with the State and possibly post a bond as well.
The law is very tough on the fitness industry down here. Hope your state is easier to work with.

Greg, Frank,

I appreciate the repsonse. I will check the laws in my state. I am really leaning towards the independent contractor path for the reasons Greg mentioned.
Once again, I appreciate the response.
