Eric, I know that a thruster is not a jerk. Every coach at my affiliate is a USAWL coach and the owner did his thesis on the mechanics of weightlifting. One of our members was on Germany's national team. It's definitely a part of our affiliate's culture. I was thinking that you guys were talking about a squat clean into a jerk, but that there perhaps finer details that made you prefer not to call the movement a clean and jerk.
I wasn't claiming you don't know the difference between a jerk/push press/thruster, I was just pointing out that the word has a specific meaning just like many other words in any number of sports, and that it does not make much sense to call this a clean and jerk when there's no actual requirement to jerk it.

Please tell me there's a video of that minor miracle. Unless it was an honest mistake of putting 70 points as 70 rounds in the submission.

I bet that was it. The guy got 35 rds (70 pts) and they put it in as 70, except they put the 70 in the "rounds" block.

I honestly don't believe there is any human on earth right now that could get 70 rds.

Gotcha. And, like I said, I was assuming people were jerking and was wondering if there was just a nuance to the lift you guys were seeing.
