Leaderboard Issue

Dan Bailey is first overall and Rich froning is at fourth. But they are both in the central east region and Froning is first and Bailey is second there. I know there are problems with the leaderboard but i just want to know which one is right!??!

Re: Leaderboard Issue

The region is scored against the region and the overall against the overall. Depending on where you place in each will decide that relative ranking. Doing poorly on a wod will be punished a lot worse in the overall standing.

Re: Leaderboard Issue

From what Tony was saying on the week 4 recap, the new "scoreboard" is correct and the standings are legit.

Basically they take the ranking and add them together for a score, so world:

Dan Bailey is 1st with 24 pts. (3rd, 5th, 11th, 5th=24)
Froning is 4th with 44 pts. (1st, 39th, 1st, 3rd=44)

Regionally now Froning was 1st,4th, 1st, 1st for 7 pts and Bailey was 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd for 8 pts. (lower being better obviously)

Hope that helps clarify

Re: Leaderboard Issue

The new scoring system makes sense, but even though the submission window for 11.4 is now closed and the submission window for 11.5/6 is not yet open there are still frequent fluctuations in the placing of individuals. I am guessing that is based on scores being invalidated and those people being removed? At what point is the scoreboard "final" for a given week?

It won't be "final" until the end of the competition.

I understand that the final leaderboard will be at the end of the competition, but it would make sense that one could accurately track their posistion week by week. From Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon, all the workout scores should be posted therefore the positions on the leaderboard should be fixed (as in not moving). However, people are still shifting up and down the leaderboard within this time window. So, what I am more interested in knowing is if there is a given time period within each week where the leaderboard is final for that given week.

If that time period does not exist in a week to week situation, then so be it.

Re: Leaderboard Issue

Although, I suppose it really is irrelevant until the competition is completed.

Re: Leaderboard Issue

There are so many people involved with entering scores, validating them, checking videos, finding mistakes, etc. that it's going to take a while to finalize the scores at the end let alone during any given week.

Re: Leaderboard Issue

I think the theory was to have all day monday and tuesday to get scores validated and ranked so everyone knew where they stood before the next wod was announced on tuesday night.

Just didn't quite work out as planned.
