How much rest time (100% pulling brake) does it take to totally resolve tendonitis from pull ups.

I got tendonitis from doing cross training and took off about 3 weeks, and it resolved itself. 2 weeks were active recovery, and one was a total week off from any exercising.

I got tendonitis from either pushing the pullups too much or doing cleans with a standard bar. I took off a month (total rest) and additional 3 months (CF WOD but no pulling) have been working pulling back in for past two months and still have twinges sometime. I can dead & dumbbell swing no problem but any pulling where my arm bends I take slowly.
Age may have something to do with it. I'm 46.
