I want to eventually compete in the highland games, but I honestly have no idea where to start.

I know this is an open-ended question, but where do I begin?

Find one, sign up, do the clinic if they offer one, ask a lot of questions of your fellow competitors either way, and fall on your butt a few times, just not on the caber or weight over bar. Drink lots of beer at the end, fall down again, and have someone drive you home for a well-earned sleep. Bring a Sport Kilt, which I think is If not, Google it. There ain't no learnin' like doin'.
