Re: Will Crossfit get left out when licensure hits the fitness industry?

I didnt take too much time reading the entire post but ill just say this .... people who love crossfit truely are pretty die hard as long as there is a need there is a industry and people find a way or someone finds a way to create a service for the need so whatever changes someone will find a way to meet the change and provide a service for the need i wouldn't waste anytime worrying about this...

Re: Will Crossfit get left out when licensure hits the fitness industry?

I just keep coming back to the question of how would you regulate the fitness industry? It would have to come to the point of needing a license to buy fitness equipment of any sort, since I could buy a home gym unit (ugh) or a barbell and squat rack, and if I happen to invite friends over to work out with me, I would be 'in the industry' to an extremely limited extent.

Aside from that, what about groups of people that enjoy running together or hiking together? Are people going to regulate that?

I love how this guy is trying to stir up fear so that people will see his side of the story, possibly send money his way, and in general be an obstacle for normal, everyday people.

This whole thing has been a hugely entertaining bit of science fiction.

silliness.
He has 11 total posts. 10 posts in this thread, with the last one stating he is going to learn more about CrossFit, and his 11th post is a request to delete his account.

I really wish people would LEARN FIRST, then present their opinions on things.

Re: Will Crossfit get left out when licensure hits the fitness industry?

I'm just catching the tail end of the discussion, but for what its worth...

Dr. Stuart McGill's statement was taken out of context. What he said was that HQ's policy of posting the WOD on the main site was dangerous in that untrained/supervised CrossFitters might injure themselves performing them with poor form.

This doesn't mean CrossFit is dangerous. It means bad form is dangerous.
