What about the not so near future ?

Has anyone wondered about who is going to be in charge and responsible for the direction of CF in say 40 or 50 years, particularly the main site ? Because its possible Mr. and Mrs. Glassman may not be around to control and guide where the whole thing is going, since they seem to have such a great sense of what they made CF to be and how they want it to progress being pretty young i wonder about if when I'm 50 or whatever if it's still going to be around, or if its going to stick to its great organic foundation. Anyone have any insight ?

Re: What about the not so near future ?

Crossfit is an attitude & approach to fitness, once learned it's hard to forget. So anyone who's learned crossfit will be able to keep the flame alive.

The community around crossfit is strong and active, as long as the community continues then crossfit will continue.

Everything evolves over time, and there will be fractures and spinoffs (already we have CFFB, CFE, etc). But the knowledge has been shared, and it's hard put the genie back in the bottle

Re: What about the not so near future ?

Crossfit has made hard training mainstream again - over time some of the sillier CF practices and dogmas will get phased out, there will probably be more strength work, more running and less gym based metcon (this is already the trend), and CF will fall into line with many of the other S&C programs used for dedicated athletes.
