Hello From New Zealand

Well this is my first post Kia ora to all. Must say really enjoying the Crossfit way haven't felt this good since leaving the British Army, and I was doing more training hours there too.

Just to say a big to the Coach and all you guys that have inspired me to come home from work and religiously check out the wod and jump into it.
Hope to make it to a seminar one day and meet other like minded individuals.
Cheers
Andy NZ

Re: Hello From New Zealand

Hi Andy,

Not many Kiwis on here, but it's good to know that there are at least some. I see that you live on the Shore as well. I'm not sure where you train, but I take my rings, parallettes, ab wheel to my gym and I think scare the **** out of some of the trainers and gym goers by doing some of the WODs or maybe because of the olympic lifting and all the perspiration and heavy breathing.

Should get together for a workout one day.

Steve.

Good to see the Southern Hemisphere getting a representation.

If you ever feel the urge to drop into Sydney come WOD with us!

Hey Steve

Yeah I used to go to Millenium Gym in Apollo but found it a little hard to train, got really busy most nights so lost my flow. But all good now do more workouts at home slowly building up a home gym . Where do you train?

Re: Hello From New Zealand

Steve and Andy Welcome.
I was in NZ earlier this year fighting, from what i got to see its a nice place.
You guys should drop in and see Kevin at Get Stregth in Onehunga, getstrength.com he's not a crossfitter but runs a powerlifting and its a power lifting and strong man gym as well as having a shop where you can buy lots of garage gym /crossfit relevant equipment like kettlebells, iron woody bands etc.

I'll be back in April to fight again on the Primetime show, would love to catch up with you guys then if its workable.

Hey Andy,

Train at Les Mills 2 or 3 times a week. Train at The Zone doing boxing twice a week. Over summer I sometimes do an outside session on Saturdays at Birkenhead War Memorial as I have access to tyres, power bags, sleds and 30 -40kg round posts. I eventually want to sort out some more equipment so that like you can train at home.

Re: Hello From New Zealand

An ex Kiwi (Aucklander) here.

PLease don't forget Perth you guys! We get left out of everything!

As for taking paralletes etc to the gym - hell. I'm looked at strangely enough as it is! I do take my lifting belt in with my rope and clips etc for adding plates for chins - that's bad enough! I started practising handstand pushups one day and felt so self conscious I've never done it again!
