Thanks Graham! Maybe a WOD playlist is in order...

Karl - house was in West Ealing, boyfriend worked in Isleworth & I worked in Victoria. After 7 years in London a change will be nice, but I still love the city. Glad to hear the spirit is good, it's been wierd watching on the news and not being there.
Is Rachel using resistance band-type things? I've got 3 Therabands looped round the pullup bar, it's made a big difference. Once I get stronger I'll reduce it to 2, then 1 etc. You can get different strength bands so you can fine tune the level of assistance. I use the bands until I can't do any more, then do jump up/negative down until I've done the WOD. Good luck to her, I'll keep you updated.
I'll stop rattling on now!

Rachel was using an old inner tube from a bike to help with the pullups and on ring dips.

It all went south though after it slipped off her knees not once, but twice and smacked her in the face!

I tried so hard not to laugh.

I failed miserably...

She seems to be getting by through gritting her teeth and taking any gains, no matter how small.

Good for her, I think it's the only way. I'm sure your sympathy helped!
How about knotting 2 inner tubes together & putting her feet in the tube instead? I also get smacked in the face if I try to use my knees, but feet work well.

Just had one of those "Oh YEAH..!" moments!

Thanks Emma!

It'll hopefully avoid the imprints of "specialized" on her forehead from now on too!

Danger Wil Robinson!
When using stretch bands on your feet, always keep feet together, and toes pointed up! It is possible for a band to snap off of foot and snap to crotch, and drastically shorten a WOD.
I know this to be true.

I use, sorry used (out at the moment due to busted shoulder) therabands, one grey and one black under one knee only . You cant cheat with them, if you try to push off your legs at all they will slip and give you a slap. I showed one of the other girls at the gym the bands, after helping her do assisted chins. She was quite impressed by my demo but first go she didn't move becasue she was pushing down with her legs rather than pulling up. We tried again and she wore them on the chin again because she straightened her legs to push off.

Anyway good work on your improvements, like the boys said WOD in pubic and the comments will come but you will usually get looks first.

PS I also got a slap the first day i used them. Maybe, its not our technique i might have just got a violent set of bands :P
