Back squats - Taco Tuesday

Fortunately not but I just about got tacoed on the 5th rep of a PR set.

I had plenty of leg / hip strength available so I guess I found my weak link.

I recently started using a belt after a few back tweaks.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

I was hoping this thread was about the post workout benefits of having tacos after a squat session. So I was a little disappointed

I assume you mean you are buckling over from the low back/waist when the squats get challenging?

I think using a belt will be a good tool to teach you how to pressurize your gut and really push the abs out. Ideally you want to fill air to the front, sides and back. Whenever I don't, squats feel a lot heavier and I almost always pitch forward.

I also recommend starting the ascension of your squat by driving your upper back into the bar while keeping a pressured core. When I start by driving from the feet or legs, I am more likely to pitch forward. Once you get the initial go into the bar, then squeeze the butt and feet.

Front squats and safety bar squats can help build the stability. Ab work and low back work--reverse hypers/good mornings.
