i'm still thinking of a way to overload the hspu in a similar fashion as kipping pullups.
anyone got ideas?

light exercise band around the ankles secured to something above to provide high rep hspu. to build the groove. spotter is similar.

hspu with one hand on parrallette or phone book while other on the ground to overload one side more.

hspu with one hand on phone book while moving laterally to replace the hand on the ground to the one on the book, then vice versa.

loading one arm more on the negative phase, then the concentric uses both arms.

The kipping HSPU can be done by kicking your legs upwards from headstand and using the momentum to push to handstand. I'm not that good at it but I think it would be possible to do clapping HSPUs using this technique.

Negative spots for added resistance, weight vests, ankle weights (ankle weights make the balance nasty)

The kick works well to make it balistic, and yes clapping HSPU are possibe with and without the kick. This is probably the clostst analogy to a kipping pull up.

You want to add difficulty, planch the handstand a bit.
