Equipment package price check
I have the opportunity to buy all this gear for $2000 and it is practically brand new, no shipping, just wondering if you think it is a good price or not. It is not exactly all necessary at the moment, probably couldn't seriously start using it till I get back in the states in 18-24 months but if it is a steal I would like to capitalize on it. Thanks in advance...

Re: Equipment package price check
1,5 to 2 years is a long time. I'd wait and get all the gear then.
It's not a bad deal. It also depends on what you need. If it was me - I'd keep the 16, 24 & 32 kg bells, swap the barbell for a better one, get HiTemp or Rogue bumpers instead of Wrights, lose the 10 lbs ball and if you really need one more - get the 14. Wouldn't get the HiTech plates either. And would try to get a rower & a set of rings. |

Re: Equipment package price check
I'm a bit confused about your situation. It says you live in Italy, but would this stuff be purchased here in the U.S.?
If that is the case, then actually, I think that's not that good of a deal personally. The bumpers and Olympic plates aren't even complete. I would personally just wait. Here's a breakdown of what I paid for similar items or where you can get it for pretty cheap. 320lb set of Wright Bumpers (4-45s, 2-35s, 2-25s, 2-10s). - $473 (shipped from Wright) Kettlebells (2-7kg, 1-12kg, 1-16kg, 1-20kg, 1-24kg, 1-32kg) - $270 (Craigslist) York Powerlifting Bar (32121) = $178 (shipped from Rogue) Dynamax Balls (10lb, 20lb) - $195 (shipped from Rogue) Olympic Steels Plates 600+lbs + extra bar and collars - $150 (Craigslist) Technique Plates - $160 (shipped from Rogue) Training Barbell - $137 (shipped from Rogue) Grand Total = $1563 The only thing missing is a 28kg kettlebell (which is kind of a random weight anyway) but you can prob get it for $40-$60 from Craigslist. Needless to say, $1600 is much lower than $2101.15 and you get so much more. But that's just me. With the remaining ~$500 you have left, you can buy some rings and a decent squat rack. Like Leonid said, you could even ditch some of the lighter kettlebells and 10lb ball and get a better barbell for Olympic Lifting. Craigslist is totally your friend for kettlebells, weights, benches, dumbbells, and squat racks/cages. |

Re: Equipment package price check
So he just dropped the price and these are the new numbers on some of the gear:
$ 1000 for Kettlebells – one pair each of 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, and 32kg $ 500 for Olympic weight set – York 1000 lb test bar; one pair each of 45, 25, and 10 lb bumpers; one pair each of York 10, 5, and 2.5 lb metal plates; one pair York spring collars $ 250 for Training set – 15 lb 6’ Olympic training bar; one pair Hi-tech 10 lb training plates (indestructible bumpers); one pair York spring collars $ 150 for Dynamax medicine balls – One each of 10 and 20 lb (red and black) $ 50 for Elite rings – Black; Any of this sound like a steal? |
