The only concern would be they are not necessarily designed for a huge load being dropped on them...but if they are beefy and you knowingly assume the risk, why not? You also may want to insure that they don't tip over if you don't come down straight.

I've used them for 500lb plus DO deadlift lockouts and never had a problem-

I use my saw horses also as a spot for back squats. Especially for the 1 rom wod's.. Only problem is they sit a little to high for a full squat. It hits the rails on the saw horses on the way down but ever so slightly. They work for me.

I've used some adjustable plastic ones from home depot in my garage for the last 3 years and they easily hold 500 lbs. Just make sure your not letting the barbell slam down on them.
