York Bumper Grip Plates/Bumpers In Europe

i'm looking at getting some bumpers, has anyone used these?

they say "ensuring the functionality and floor protection expected of a bumper plate"

Just looking for some feedback on these

http://www.yorkfitness.com/store/IIT...?idProduct=642 (W/F Safe)

Also anyone know any other places to get bumpers in Ireland/UK or Europe?

Re: York Bumper Grip Plates/Bumpers In Europe

Don't know, they are not bumpers to me, it's a simple cast iron plate with a rubber rim. From what I know bumpers are totally made of rubber, with an inner rim of steel where the hole for the bar sleeve is.
If you want some european sellers link here what I've found in my endless searches... (w/f safes)
http://www.schnell-online.de/ --
http://www.nerlinger.com/ -- beware it's all in german

This one not so w/f safe (some not so dressed models on the main page),and it's in Italian, so I don't know if is of any usefulness to you.

Hope it helps.

www.irish-lifting.com (wfs link) claim they're going to start selling bumpers pretty soon. Not yet though.

I'm looking around for a set myself, but the crazy cost of shipping 100kg+ of rubber is keeping me from ordering from overseas right now.

Ian
I have the York plates you were looking at. Can i suggest investing in the proper bumper plates. i wish I had - in fact I'm considering seeing if I can get a refund to go for the better plates as the paint is almost completely flaked off the central housing and looks like it may not last too long. be good to see if anyone else turns up a decent source in the UK - if only york did a Cf discount over here - last time i asked i got a crappy response and told I had to spend at least 1500 in one order to get a 5% discount! Having said that - I have the York Squat stands and a York needle bearing bar and they are both fantastic pieces of kit.

merry christmas

Yes chris i was gonna purchase the ones you have, from the ad i thought there were bumpers, lucky i came on here to get help.

Seems like the York Solid Rubber Training Disc is the best option for me,i'll have to wait till the new year to order,i just need a couple of plates as i have a ton of cast iron weights i could use with the bumpers to up the weight as needed

Thanks for the help everyone
