Re: Crossfit Games 11.3 - Squat clean/jerk

I will be happy if I get one rep. I weigh 135 and I think my previous PR for this was 75.

Questionable is a nice word, when you do the sums it becomes some other words that is not fit for a family site.

There were 9 DL, 12 PU and 15 BJ's
which equates to 36 movements
in 1 RD...16 * 36 = 576 reps in total
...15 minutes * 60 sec = 900 secs
900 / 576 = 1.56 secs per rep
...this includes moving from station to station.

On another note, anyone else a fan of how fast Barber is getting his results in? Pretty sure he's one of the only top level athletes that's hitting these WODs right away. He's not waiting till 5 on Sunday. Seriously, love that guy. I hope he makes it to the games this year.

Re: Crossfit Games 11.3 - Squat clean/jerk

According to the standards video if you power clean the weight you have to descend into a front squat (hip crease below the knee) before you jerk the weight overhead.

The advantage of living in New Zealand means we get the workout at wednesday lunchtime. He probably hits it that night..

A very 'bold' score, as Heather Bergeron would say.

80 reps is a rep every 3.75 sec if I did my math right. So less than 8 seconds from bar resting on the ground, to front squat, to overhead. Including dropping the bar and no rest that is insane.

Re: Crossfit Games 11.3 - Squat clean/jerk

80 points is 40 cleans and 40 jerks, or a 40-rep Squat Grace @ 165# in 5 min, however you want to slice it. 5 min is 300 seconds. 300 sec/40 reps is 7.5 sec/rep, aka totally doable for the manbeasts.
