Kimbo on TUF 10

I know he is contraversial. But, you have to admire the guy for taking this on. It shows he is willing to work his way to the UFC.

Not sure how it will go down, but it will certainly be interesting.

Filming started yesterday.

I'm not sure I believe Dana on Kimbo not making any extra $$$ to be on the show...

They say this season will be legit heavyweights as opposed to blown up LHW's. There isn't exactly a ton of HW talent out there so I'm not sure how this will turn out.

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

I've never watched a single episode of the show, but plan on watching this season just because Kimbo is in it. Joke or not, this guy is a name that's easily identifiable by the beyond casual fan, and that's good for the sport.

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

so...will they be "fighting to get into the house" as they have been the last couple of seasons? They stated that they already had the 16 fighters (that's all they would need if it was HW only).

It will be interesting to watch either way...

I dont know. But my guess is no fighting to get in since the true heavyweight pool is so small.

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

Rumor has it that there won't be any fighting to get into the house. There's also four ex-football players who are supposedly going to be on the show.

I've never seen him fight but I'm not a fan of Kimbo, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. This show will see if he's for real or not.

Smart move by Dana White though.

He is not good for the sport because he is what the casual fan thinks of when they think of MMA. However, from a marketing stand point this was a genius move by Dana because it will increase ratings.

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

Dana White is definitely a marketing genius. He's proved that several times. I don't think Kimbo Slice being on the show will be any more harmful than everything else he's already done.

Chances are he won't make it far. He's got little to no ground game, he has heavy hands, but his standup isn't that great either, his chin is very suspect. My prediction is that he doesn't make it to the end.

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

I think a sign of Kimbo's dedication to training (or lack thereof) was when Bas Rutten and him parted ways because Kimbo wasn't putting in enough effort.
Bobby Lashley is also apparently rumoured to be on this season.....
