Re: Ufc 87!!

ESPECIALLY Anderson Silva. How can you not say that guy is pound for pound the best fighter when he just bumped up to Light Heavyweight to fight. Yes, granted it was James Irvin, not Wanderlei or Chuck, but Irvin is not exactly a tomato can. Fighting in two weight classes, much less WINNING in two weight classes puts him at the top. I truly believe that A. Silva would beat Forrest if given the chance. The guy is unbelievable, and I'm not even a fan of his.

Better than...

BJ Penn?
GSP?
Silva?
Forrest Griffen?

Come on now..... I like Roger, but sorry, not even top ten.
Why not? He as torn his way through what is probably the weight class with the best all around talent, inmost of his fights he doesn't even look like he's been in a fight. He is a great striker, great grappler, and has phenomenal conditioning. If he beats Kenflo, he has to be considered among the best.

I think Forrest would rip his arm off and beat him with it

And I'd imagine there are a good many of us who are hoping that we a get a chance to see that match up!

Maybe in mid 2009?

I am sorry but you are saying Huerta, (who really hasn't been tested by a single belt contender until Sat. when he faces a tough southpaw who has gone five rounds with a champion) is better then Anderson Silva, BJ Penn, who looked awesome against sherk, or even GSP, who is a dominant force in the 70ers.

Don't get me wrong, he is creative, fast, and has dominated the competition he has faced, but again, none were championship caliber.

I'm not disagreeing with anyone saying Anderson is a great fighter because I think he's one of the best out there, but remember, he walks around at 213 lbs. Cutting to 205 and beating someone like Irvin is solid, but not that impressive. Now if he beat a top 5 LHW that would be impressive.

Re: Ufc 87!!

Oh! As far as UFC 87, call me crazy, but I don't think Fitch will be much of a threat to GSP. He's not much of a KO threat and if he stands with GSP he'll get his cheeks handed to him. His biggest strength is wrestling and "control", which he'll be hard pressed to do against GSP for 5 rounds. I think his only chance is if he can catch GSP in a submission which isn't likely. It's a fight so anything can happen. I just think GSP would take this fight about 4 out of 5 times.

Florian vs Huerta...man, I don't know who'll win. I hope Huerta does. It seems to me he's about as good as Florian. Still, that's just my perception and Huerta is still relatively untested. Florian is definitely the more proven fighter. If I had to make a bet I'd go with Florian but I'll be pulling for Huerta.

My picks:
GSP (I <3 that French Canuck!)
Lesnar
Huerta
I'm a moron. I had it in my mind that the next UFC wasn't until early September. Forgot about this weekend... It's UFC 88 that I will be missing... and it's because I'll be flying BACK from Switzerland. Wow, pathetic. But at least I will be able to watch GSP fight (and win!)
