But how can you measure 400 or 800 meters (off course if you can measure 400 you are half done :-))

Re: Maybay a silly question

If you have a school with a track you can run at, problem solved.

Here the major streets/stoplights are 1 mile from each other.

Other than that, guestimating never hurt anyone. I've also used www.mapmyrun.com (w/f/s) to get approximate distances. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close.

You said everything I was gonna say... I guess you could even use the trip on your car but I dont know how much accuracy you are looking for.

Re: Maybay a silly question

they sell a long distance measuring wheel at home depot for like 50 bucks. It might measure in feet though but it' easy to convert. Buy it, measure and return it lol

Re: Maybay a silly question

I use this handy g-maps pedometer. I didn't know if it worked for locations outside the US, so I checked the location in your profile and sure enough, Raalte shows up crystal clear.

The average step is about a yard, you can count it off

Re: Maybay a silly question

400 Meters is roughly a quarter mile. 800m is about a half mile.
