Breakfast ideas

Can anyone think of a protein source for breakfast besides eggs, chicken, or turkey? I use whey for snacks, and don't do dairy or soy related products.

Re: Breakfast ideas

Thanks for the ideas! Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but can anyone give me insight as to if I'm doing this right? I'm trying do paleo-zone just including oatmeal cause I can't give that up haha. I'm also trying to not spend $100+ a week on food being I'm in college and that's kind of rough. I cycle between 2 meal days. I'm 19 blocks according to the zone calculator. Here's what I have:

Meal day #1

5 Blocks

2 eggs, 2 egg whites
1 cup grapes
6 strips turkey bacon
1 cup applesauce
1/3 tsp olive oil
2 tsp almond butter

5 oz Chicken Breast
3 cups Broccoli
1 cup onions 1 cup cucumber slices
1 tomato
2 1/2 cups romaine lettuce
1 cup green beans
2/3 tsp olive oil
3 slivered almonds

7.5 ounces shrimp
2 cups cauliflower
2 1/2 cups romaine lettuce
1/4 cup leeks
1/2 grapefruit
2 cups mushrooms
2/3 cups applesauce
12 cashews
1/3 tsp olive oil

2 Block Snacks

Half scoop of whey
1 orange
6 cashews

Half scoop of whey
2 cups celery
2 cups cucumbers
1 tsp almond butter

Meal day #2

5 Blocks

2/3 cup cooked oatmeal
2/3 cup applesauce
2 egg whites 2 eggs
1 tomato
1/4 cup onions
5 tsp slivered almonds

5 oz tuna
1 apple
2/3 cups canned peaches
2 cups celery
2 tsp almond butter
3 cashews

5 oz turkey breast
2 cups cucumber
1 orange
2 cups sliced celery
2 cups mushrooms
1/3 tsp olive oil
4 tsp slivered almonds

2 Block Snacks

half scoop of whey
2 tsp slivered almonds
1 apple

half scoop of whey
1 grapefruit
6 cashews

Any advice on any of this? I'm basically trying to be cheap in a healthy manner, I don't mind eating the same things every day as long as it doesn't hurt my health. With that being said would it hurt to cut one of these out and eat just one meal plan every day?

sorry for the long post and thanks again guys.

Re: Breakfast ideas

Looks good to me. I would just take a look at the applesauce, loaded w/ sugar I think. I don't have oatmeal much anymore, but in a pinch, I'll mix a packet of plain oatmeal and a couple tablespoons of natural peanut butter. If your not opposed to splenda, that can sweeten it a little too.

Re: Breakfast ideas

Grass-fed ground beef in bulk is the way to go. Then you can make all different kinds of conconcotions with it for breakfast. Tastes especially good mixed with eggs and veggies as seen here: http://*************/?p=16 (w/f safe).

Re: Breakfast ideas

Would pork products be all right? They are not lean, but slightly leaner than eggs which you're OK with.

Josh;

Consider skipping breakfast, mid morning snack, and start eating at noon, or some other pattern of Intermittent Fasting. There is a constant thread over at Performance Menu and there has been discussion on the CF boards.
I fast from 6:00 PM to noon the next day, then eat appx 1800-2100 calories from noon to 6. Of course, you can tweak the fasting/eating windows to what ever fits your schedule.
Saves time, and discussions seem to say that the body enjoys the rest from constant eating.

Re: Breakfast ideas

Breakfast is simple--I don't eat it (except for black coffee).

As Jay said, you can push your breakfast blocks/foods/macros back into lunch & dinner, problem solved for good.

No need to worry about morning Pukie when there's no food in your stomach...
