I've been doing the Zone for awhile now, and I want to gradually move to more Paleo food choices. The biggest step for me will be eliminating dairy, but I also have read that members of the nightshade family aren't Paleo. I eat tomatoes and peppers regularly and eggplant on occasion. If I have no existing joint problems and don't notice any digestion problems with these foods, how important is it to eliminate them?

There has been a lot of discussion concerning the elimination of foods--dairy to be precise--and my feelings are that it may be good for some, but it also may not matter to others. Going off dairy for a month for me did nothing but limit the foods I could eat, while for others it can lead to a more healthy lifestyle. I say give it a try, see what happens.
(Definitely eliminate cheese, a Chinese friend once told me it is the source of all our "Westerner Problems".) |

^^^ Not neccesarily something you need to worry about. He may or not know what he's talking about. many people seem to think that Chinese people are long-lived and healthier than westerners. Not true. Maybe people are confusing them with the Okinawans.

I know I just thought it was funny when he said it.
