Re: Real Wrx Workout Log

Hey Christie, I hadnt looked at your log for a while, and all I can say is: HOLY CRAP!!!

You are lifting some serious weight these days! You have numbers that are better than most of the guys at my globogym!!! (Except on the bench - but you know they train that lift 4 times a week!!!)

I hope you compete, and I hope you win! I will look back more often to see how things are.

Keep up the good work!

Not kidding. If you would like a "real world" workout, get on a roof and rip off some old shingles. What's even more fun is ripping off the ridge caps. (Sarcasm) My butt and hamstrings were really working and I had to stabilize my body the whole time. I am sore...and I kinda like it. But roofing sucks.
I am going to agree with this! My wife's brother owns a roofing business, when I was laid off back in '08 - I did a lot of work for him - and it is tough stuff!

Re: Real Wrx Workout Log

Milton, thank you so much!! How sweet! I really love to lift, but I am afraid that competin' may ruin that. Not sure if I will yet.

But seriously, I have a new respect for roofers!!

Today's workout

10 Dead lift at 135 lbs
10 push ups
10 pull ups

10 rounds

I did this last year and finished in 23:12, but today I finished in 21:41!!! I was happy about that. I should definitely have better times than last year's workouts.

I never broke the reps in the dead lifts..I did 10 in a row each round. I broke the pull ups 8 and then 2 for the first few rounds and then went to 4, 3, and 3. Dead hangs with a bit of a swing in the beginnings, and then most were kipping toward the end. In the beginning I didn't break the push ups, but the last 6 rounds I broke them into 7 and 3.

Re: Real Wrx Workout Log

Had to take another quick hiatus. I did have an 8 round tabata workout with DB swings (50 lbs), pullups, push ups, air squats, and sit ups about a week ago. That was brutal. Forgot to post though.

Today:

155 lbs Back Squat

4 rounds of 12 reps

Press/Push Press

5 by 5

started off with 65 lbs and went up 10 lbs to 75 lbs

100 Push ups

Re: Real Wrx Workout Log

Yesterday's workout:

75 lb Thrusters x 10
pull ups x 15
40 lb kettlebell swings x 15

6 rounds; 21: 14

I've also been riding horses 4x a week and I usually ride for an hour or so. That is mostly isometric work, however.

Rode today and because of that and being incredibly soreeee from yesterday's workout, I just did:

175 lb Back Squat for 5 x 5
