WOD question
as we have no rings at our gym i'm going to try the 120 pull ups and 120 dips (dont think i'll get there but i'll go until i drop) but doe you have to do all the push ups after another and then tackle the dips, or can I do pull ups 10 pull ups 10 dips 10 pull ups?

Re: WOD question
16 out of 120?
I wouldn't stop there. Mark down that you go 16 this time....but then continue. Sub jumping pullups (or negatives) with bench dips (or negatives). Then see if you can finish at 120. If you fail at 90, well, then you fail at 90. Mark down the "16" and the hypothetic "90" and then try to improve on both next time. Making gains in the 30 MU WOD without doing a single MU. Gotta love crossfit. There are goals written all over it. |

Re: WOD question
That's good Patrik, keep working those pull-ups and dips in your warm-ups. The warm-up should have you near 30 of each a day.

Re: WOD question
Hahaha my bad Patrik.
Well you're over half way there, better than 1/10 of the way there like I has originally thought lol. Aushion had good advice with the CFWU. It really can help improve your pullups and dips....even your flexibility! Enjoy. |

Re: WOD question
thx for the tips... i could have done more if i would have continued with the jumping pull ups and the chair dips. but i'm beat anyway.
i dont do the CFWU because i'm not convinced it is a good warm up. I'm very new too crossfit but i have about 11 years of expieriance in capoeira training an teaching. starting a strech on cold muscles is not a good idea imho. even in capoeira i need a WU that begins very slowly. so what i do now is rope skipping, streching and jumping jacks and stuff. but what i realy need to learn is kipping while pulling up. i dont seem to be able to do it. but our pull up bar is verclose to the wall so i'm kinda scared of trying it. (i work out bare feet so i dont want to bump my toes ![]() i know all excuses. i'll get there ![]() |

Re: WOD question
Maybe after your own personalized warm up you would be loose enough or ready to try some of the crossfit stuff. CFWU is not a mandatory or restricted warm up. Feel free to do anything you want before or after it (or even omit it as you have been). I just feel like you should add a few bodyweight routines (pullups, pushups, dips) to your regimen which could help you get better in time.

Re: WOD question
alot of us feels like we need to raise our core temp a little before we start with the CFWU.
for me, i do some rope skips and a couple burpees then followed by the actual "warmup". |
