Ready to Begin CF

Hi, My fitness journey began a year ago, when I started working with a personal trainer who's been great, I have lost well over 60-70lbs, and I am in the best shape I've been in since I was 21. I have been researching CF for a while and I want to become a member active member of the CF Family and to possibly compete in the Mid Atlantic Regionals in 2014. I am trying to find a great affiliate in the Washington DC area, but I want to know the best way to screen the affiliates. Please advise on what I should be looking for.

Re: Ready to Begin CF

Define your goals and see which affiliates fit in line with those goals besides schedule and location.

Depending on where you live, schedule and traffic; Outlaw CrossFit or one of the gyms started by former Outlaw trainers is probably the best in that neck of the woods for someone with competitive aspirations.

Re: Ready to Begin CF

Research the boxes within acceptable commuting distance. There are a lot in your area. I would imagine picking a box is not like a college ... Most people go for the community aspect and working out .. Not looking for the crimson tide-esq regional athlete factory

The Virginia burbs have quality choices as well

Thanks so much, I have reached out to Outlaw Crossfit and hoping to schedule a appointment with them to do a Drop-In. They are actually 15 mins from where I live. #AWESOME
