Predictions

This thread is here for all to discuss, debate and predict who they think will crush the open, tear up the regional and eventually win the games.

For me my predictions are slightly biased based upon personal feelings... If I were a smart man I would put money on

Women:
1) Briggs
2) Thorsdottir
3) Valenzuela

Men:
1) Froning
2) Khalipa
3) Smith

But I have always been emotionally attached to certain athletes based on their demeanour, attitude, and positivity (taking nothing away from my "smart" predictions)

Women:
1) Sidell (after last years performance in the open..... She is a BEAST!!!! And will be hungry as heck this year)
2) Jones (something about her, killer)
3) Wall (the background makes her an underdog lovers favourite)

Men:
1) Salo (the reason I started crossfit, the epitome of Heart and mental strength..... Hopefully the body can hold up.... If he decides to compete)
2) Parker (fellow Canadian. Just a down to earth guy. Beard.
3) Spealler/Grundler (not underdogs. Just genuinely good people you want to see do well - not to take away from all the other great crossfitters)

Re: Predictions

Grundler won't make it, and Speal is in a pretty tough region IIRC. Salo has missed the last 3 all through injury, his biggest thing will be getting his body working.

It would be hard to put money against Froning, although I don't think his volume is as previous years according to a couple of interviews so that could come into play. However he is a genetic freak so he will definitely be up there.

I would like to see Ben Smith take it out as he comes across as a really nice guy, as do all of the top athletes. Josh Bridges could be a contender if the weights are light.

On the girls side I think Camille will come back stronger than last year, however I think it will be between Annie and Sam.

Re: Predictions

Haven't seen much about Annie. How is her recovery going from the back injury last year?

I think Fisher will be up there. I think he would have gotten 3rd last year if they had used the same scoring system that they used in previous years.

Fisher is a monster. He will be a force next year and the years to come. Annie is stronger than in previous years and had time to kill goats.....

Re: Predictions

Sidell is going to do very, very well. Curious to see how Ager does this year after that slip up at Regionals last year.

Re: Predictions

My money is on Klokov giving many a run for there money provided he does compete. He physically is stronger then any CrossFitter can hope to be. If he can get his endurance and conditioning down he will dominate and use his sheer size and strength as an intimidation tactic.

For current athletes I have my money on

Kenneth Leverich
Jason Khalipa
Aja Barto

Rory Zambard
Elisabeth Akinwale
Lindsay Valenzuela

Nobody knows even what region he will compete in. He might be from EU but he is all over the map over last 6 months.

Probably not (unless his region is Asia), but it will be great spectacle if he competes at all.

Re: Predictions

Klokov wouldn't have a prayer. His chances would be as good as a world champion distance runner.
