Which is more beneficial/safe, hyperextension machine or supermans?

Personally, I find supermans require a more coordination and effort to do correctly, whereas hyperextensions it's easy to "screw up and break form".

I've been reading some stuff lately that tends not to like either the hyperextension machine (I assume you mean the machine where you push against a pad) or supermans.

This comes as a result of reading a few articles by Eric Cressey over at T-nation and he is a very large fan of Dr. Stuart McGill who has written 2 books about the the spine.

IMO back extensions and good mornings are a much better exercise than either of the 2 options given.
