Zone foods

Hey all,

I've been Crossfitting for a while and have been trying to Zone for the last few months. I have the CFJ article listing the majority of foods, but there seems to be a few missing. I can't really think of any off the top of my head, but you all know which CFJ I'm talking about. I've tried searching online for other Zone food calculators, but there's nothing all inclusive or at least something to give me an average. I'm stuck eating the same foods over and over again. Does anyone know where I can find other food calculations and also what's a good snack on the go for when I'm at work or on the road. I'm referring more towards a snack bar or protein bar not a paleo kit as those aren't always easy to take along? I know a bar isn't optimal, but just something quick if needed.

Thanks.

Re: Zone foods

Hey Tom,
Try www.calorieking.com or fitday.com both wfs.

just punch in how much of the food you are eating and it will tell u how many grams of protein, carbs and fat are included.

Re: Zone foods

If you're going to eat a protein bar look for one with as little added sugar as possible, and the shortest ingredients list. Divide carb grams by 9, protein grams by 7, and fat grams by 3 to get the carb/protein/fat block breakdown.

Real food is a better snack choice--are hardboiled eggs, an apple, and some almonds not a reasonable option for you?
