To make a long story short i broke my nose being clumsy while doing dumbell thrusters during my workout with a boon stick. For those of you who have time for the whole story... here it is.

So there i was in the gym doing stretches before the normal WOD warmup. I was insanely determined this day to speed through the excersices and burn myself out.

So i grabbed a boon stick to begin the no weight barbell thrusters. I entered the squat position, then began. Down, up, down, up... i thought to myself "faster, do it faster". So i began moving as quickly and hard as possible... thats when the bar slips slightly in my hand so that the bend in the center of the boon stick smashes right into the base of my nose. A loud popping noise echoed through the gym. I immediately flushed with embarassment and approached the wall mounted mirror, waiting for my eyes to tear up. No water came then i decided i should check to see if my nose was out of place. Sure enough it was.. i pulled the cartilage portion of my nose downwards and it actually gave! That hurt like a *****. After the pain receded and facial numbness sat in i completed the WOD.

The next day i woke up with a giant purple line across my nose. The day after that i woke up with the line plus two purple eyes. Ha haha. Now i have the purple line bruise and a small bump on my right nostril that wasn't there before. My nose is already jacked from previous breaks so i guess it dosen't matter.

It will heal. I've broken my nose before and this is shy in comparison to those expiriences.

Well done, Jared...!

I've whacked myself in the throat, in the forehead a couple of times and dropped a loaded bar down my shins (knurling really digs in on its way down), but I've not ever broken anything.

You've truly outdone yourself.

I have hit myself in the chin before doing clean and jerks. I snapped my teeth together but didn't chip a tooth or anything. Some gentleman posting here said he broke a tooth doing the clean and jerk. After I read his story I almost went out and bought a mouthpiece.

Ouch... At least you get a shirt for your pain.

I have smashed my chin numerous times cleaning and jerking. I keep thinking how lucky I am by not chipping a tooth or, even worse, have my tongue hanging out.
