Re: Starting Martial Arts as a Teenager

I got a response from the martial arts school I emailed:

Quote:
Hi Zach Kapchan,

Thank you for your e-mail.

You can join Judo at any age. We do have adults that take Judo. Our Judo classes are Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 8:45 to 10:15 pm and Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 am. The cost is $95 a month and uniform fee is $60.00. Should you be interesed in trying a free class please call us at 281-4822 to set up a trial.

Sincerely,
Natalie
Hwang's School
I wasn't expecting a response, but this is pretty encouraging. $95 a month is really reasonable and I can go check out a class before committing to anything. I think it's worth a shot. This school is about a 20 minute drive, but the only school in my town seems kind of shady and doesn't teach judo, so I think it's worth it.

Re: Starting Martial Arts as a Teenager

Judo is a lot of fun. I just started doing Judo / Karate / Jujutsu / Kabuto. The grand master I am learning from teaches them all together. I just started a few months ago and I am 25. I wish I could have started younger, I think your at a great age to start. We have a kid that is 13 that trains with us and he is doing great, learning very quickly.

Yeah, Gant-
I very likely will... I wish I could do one-stop shopping... Dojo at Affiliate... but no such luck.
