Re: Olive Oil vs. EVOO shooters
Steven, im pretty sure the main difference is that EVOO is only cold pressed once. Where as olive oil is pressed several times to get as much as possible out of those olives. Basically meaning with EVOO you are getting nothing but the best out the olive.
If im wrong someone will come correct, i dont have the time at the moment to research it. Will do it later today. |

It's not that ****ant, oily tasteless film that a lot of other OOs are. It's like good sipping whiskey. You shouldn't quaff OO just to get it down. Swish it around in your mouth and enjoy. I like your avatar. I ate 7 pounds of smoked pork shoulder over a 4-day stretch last week. Does that redeem me? |

Re: Olive Oil vs. EVOO shooters
Thanks for all the replies; I shall try in earnest to find a good source for extra virgin olive oil, and do my best to find one that meshes with my tastebuds.
Gant, you were the one who put me on the path of olive oil shooters, as I'd realize late in the day that I wasn't able to drink quite enough milk, or hadn't eaten quite enough food, and four tablespoons of OO or EVOO really helped tip the scales in my favor, something I really need to concentrate on as I finish up with Starting Strength. I should have at least another month or so of the program in me, though My weight seems to have plateaued around 187 as is, hence the olive oil and increased milk consumption. I've seen such good gains that I can't help but keep with the program until I drain it of all usefulness. |

Re: Olive Oil vs. EVOO shooters
Steven,
There is a place in the West Village that sells really good EVOO. They have different flavors, and will let you do a taste test in the store. It's kind of pricey, but if you want quality and taste, you might check it out. Oliviers & Co (249 Bleecker between 7th and 6th). |

Paleo man also didn't have the internet.
Thanks for the lead Andy, I'll be sure to try them out, though price, for me, is a selling point at this time in my life. |
