Started CF a week ago,Had been doing Navy Seal fitness and core performance,so far I enjoy the intensity and the rather short duration of the WOD,right now I'm concentrating on finishing the workout without worrying about time or the amount of weight, for example today did all the pullups but it took a long time.Did the thrusters with lighter weight.I assume this is the way to do it,when just starting and listen to your body. The big question I have is how effective is CF in building plain endurance?I climb 14teeners in Colorado in the summer and endurance is important.Should I incorporate long runs or stair climbing into the workout?

Try to follow the rep scheme and adjust the weight to allow that to happen. If you are doing 21-15-9 reps in a particular exercise for example, adjust the weight so that you can do all 21 but make sure it is still a struggle. Don't make it so easy you have a time that beats Greg Amundson.

CF workouts are fabulous up to Olympic distance triathlons, but are less effective for the half. You want to hear specifically from Mark Twight regarding your climbing adventures and he posts here often. Check out www.gymjones.com, that's his place. If you go long for whatever your sport is, you need to go long in training.
