This guy is fit, I guess.

I know in the past someone on the boards had posted videos of people doing their moves on a bar. This video is rather recent so I thought I'd share it because I like it so much. I follow several guys on Youtube who have some incredible videos, but this guy Zef seems to show the most control on his move, using the least momentum of them all and having crazy endurance on top of it as his "sets" are pretty long.

I would also LOVE to see what he would get on the 30 muscle-ups for time WOD. there is a video of him, mind you like a 2 year old video, doing 20 bar muscle-ups with very little kip, almost unnoticeable kip, without letting go of the bar. And I know he can use a much more fierce kip because he does so as the sets tire him so I'd love to see how fast he'd get 30 if he started kipping wildly from the start. I like his levers and the stuff he does although I suspects the gymnasts on the boards will say it's not very impressive.

This doesn't prove general fitness to me. It proves specialization.

Impressive specialization, but specialization nonetheless.

Re: This guy is fit, I guess.

He's probably not trying to prove anything to you, so it should be all good then.

Strong work on the video without a doubt.

The underlying assumption in "this guy is fit, I guess" would seem to be that this guy's abilities on the bar demonstrate his general fitness.

To that, I disagree. Of course he's not trying to prove anything to me (cmon now), but I still have the right to disagree with the premise.

I agree. To you does it demonstrate that he's generally physically fit?

I'd say he is pretty darn fit. Which of the 10 general physical skills is he not showing here??

Re: This guy is fit, I guess.

To hold his body as he does for the periods of time he in on the bar shows good strength and strength endurance. That indicates to me he is fit.

Re: This guy is fit, I guess.

this video, or other videos of this guy and his buddies get posted every few months.

I agree with Mark - the video doesn't show GPP, it shows specialization.

Granted, he is extremely agile, flexible, coordinated and shows a lot of endurance on the bar, and definitely has great strength in body weight movements.

But the real question is, how much can he squat?

Re: This guy is fit, I guess.

He is most definitely fit. You can tell that on appearance alone...

It shows ridiculous bodyweight strength and good strength endurance. Muscle ups for time, are you kidding? They guy was doing strict, no kip muscle ups, in a slow and controlled manner (WAY harder than rushing them) for multiple reps in a row, and on top of that, he was using a close grip!!

30 muscle ups for time would be a joke for this guy lol.
