Chris Thomas' Log

Hello Crossfitters!
I have been following Crossfit online for nearly 4 years now with much curiosity, inspiration and determination, but very little action. I have done the WODs off and on here and there, but have never significantly committed it. I really hope to be changing that starting today.

A little about me...
Age: 25
Weight: 197
Height: 5'9
Essentially I ride a desk most of the day and am way too tired and drained nearly all the time. I have aches and pains that remind me of my father when I was growing up... and I am only 25!!! I am getting married within a year and part of starting that "new life" I want to have the energy to actually enjoy life instead of slogging through it.

My main goals for the next three months are pretty simple: I want to sleep better and workout consistantly and I will be using this thread as my log.

I will be working out 5 times a week (T,W,H,S,S) using the BrandX modified WOD's (one week lag) and will either be at a big box gym I have an overspent and (up til now) underused membership to or my local park/basement, depending on the workout.

PS Wow I just read back through that first post and I sound awfully serious. I am actually a pretty fun guy, but just really committed (hopeful?) to get on the bandwagon this time around

I hope to get to know some of you through this board. I have always had strong admiration for this community. Thanks all!

Re: Chris Thomas' Log

First Workout:
Puppies:
Three rounds, 12-9- and 6 reps, for time of:
45-65 pound Thruster
Squat Muscle-ups

Completed Three Rounds 12-9-6 (forgot to time):
35 pound Thruster
Squat Muscle-Ups

Short but intense... A good start I think

Good luck, Chris!

I'll try to keep an eye on your log.

FYI- I am a desk rider by day also - have been for 10 years... but I have been an active CrossFitter for more than a year now, and have lost more than 30# and I'm in the best shape of my life.

Re: Chris Thomas' Log

I missed Wednesdays workout because I didnt get up in time. I didnt get up in time Thursday either, but forced myself to go after work. Here's what I did
Tabata Something Else
Puppy's
Three rounds each in Tabata fashion of
Pull Ups
Push Ups
Sit Ups
Squats
Count Total Reps

Completed
Pulls Ups - 18 reps on Gravatron w/ 100lbs assitance
Push Ups - 28 reps
Sit Ups - 32 reps
Squats - 23 reps

I felt tight and tired through most of it, not a great workout, but I'm just glad I went.

Re: Chris Thomas' Log

So I didnt do well this weekend at all (no workouts), but I was back at it this morning.

For Time:
200 M Run
45# Shoulder Press 15 Reps
200 M Run
45# Push Press 15 Reps
200M Run
45# Push Jerk 15 Reps

I accidentally started with the Shoulder press (instead of the run) and forgot to time again, but I made it through the whole workout with little rest. Had to break the Push Jerks into two sets. Totally gassed by the end. Great way to start the short week!
