So I did today's workout with a sub for the double-unders. If any of you are familiar with the explosiveness drill that Coach Burgener does -- I believe they're also called squat jumps -- I subbed those in for each double-under.

GHD sit-ups killed the quads and abs; back extensions killed hamstrings, glutes, and back; then you have to jump under 45 pounds with none of those critical muscles being very helpful XD

I highly recommend this for a core workout; it really systematically wipes you out in a muscular way.

What a cool idea! I often try to get in an extra work-out on my off day every Monday. Since I can't do any upper body stuff that day I'm always looking for a "Michael-like" WOD. Doing squat jumps with the GHD and back ext. fits perfectly. Thanks.

Moved by moderator because I couldn't figure out what this post was doing in a "can't get videos to work" thread started by Chris Buonamia. I'm gambling that Darrell just misplaced the message, and this is my attempt to "fix" it . . . apologies to all if I've got it wrong.

Yep, Darrell -- the first time I tried the actual Burgener drill (trying to get 50 reps with the 45lb bar within 60 seconds), I realized that it was really a killer legs workout that took literally one minute. Next time I'm strapped for time, maybe I'll do that, throw in something unpleasant like muscle-ups, and call it a day :-D
