Workout of the Day Questions & performance regarding CrossFit's WOD

if my gym doesn't have the machine that allows me to do the glute ham situps.....what should i do to replace or come as close as i can to this exercise?

The object here is to let the upper body drop pretty low down . . . at or below parallel, if possible . . . before sitting up using abdominals and hip flexor strength.

So, any setup that allows this

- maybe a "Roman Chair" as they're sometimes called

- maybe just sit sideways on a bench and have something or someone anchor your feet

will come close.
