Just wanted to let everyone know I've been doing Crossfit for a month and a half now. I went to my first Gymnastics session today and stuck a front flip and a back flip off a brick wall, without ever trying gymnastics before.

I don't know if it's been as a result of my Crossfit work, but I am absolutely certain that if I hadn't been doing Crossfit I wouldn't have had the mentality that I did to attempt this kind of stuff. I was thinking "What is their to fear? Pain is only weakness leaving the body".

So thankyou Crossfit for my first front flip and backflip after running up a wall.

Nice. Was this from the top of the wall, or off the face?

'Twas off the face. The wall was 10 metres high so I don't feel to bad about it.

the backflip was off the face, correct? Wallflip, correct?
Was the front flip done off the top? You could do it off the wall but it would take some sort of half turn if you were running/planting facing the wall.

Frontflip was just a regular front flip on the floor.

The back flip was running towards a wall, boosting off my right foot, then taking one step up with my left foot, pushing off again on my right foot and then flipping backwards onto the ground.

BTW in gymnastics "stuck" means landing without taking a subsequent step, not just making a skill.

Was the front flip standing or from a run?

Mitchell, nice work!

When i started CF and BJJ i could barely do a cartwheel and even now i don;t think i'd attempt what you are describing for fear of axing myself.

PLEASE come along to one of the Sydney CF sessions on a Saturday! We won't bite and you'll meet some cool people.

Damn, I forgot to teach John how to do a wallflip after he asked me tonight. We just got carried away.
The wallflip is more about balls than technique. I'd say it's much easier than say a standing back flip but I rarely will coach it to anyone who can not do some sort of back flip and has the feel.

Plus it takes guts.

The frontflip was taken from a run, and yes I 'stuck' it. Also I did my first one on grass yesterday so that was cool.

Don, I set my alarm at 6am to come to Crossfit this morning only to find it was raining. It's 3 hours round trip to get there via public transport, do you know if there is parking around Queens Park at that time? Because that would shorten my travel time.
